Case Study #112: Cylinders
Problem: Cylinders are stacked on top of each other in a crate with no access for a gripper end-effector. Additionally, wash racks do not have access for an end-effector to grip around the parts.
Application: Transfer 200 lbs. cylinders to and from a wash rack into a crate. Work cell radius is 216″.
Solution: A pedestal mounted Simple Air Manipulator® (SAM K-112) with lost load cylinder. Bipolar magnet end-effector to grip the top of the cylinder. Gripper Safety Circuit added to ensure payload is supported before release. Swivel hook end joint for tool flexibility.
