Case Study #128: Electric Panels
Problem: Placing electric panels in the cabinets was labor intensive, requiring 2 or 3 people to place and secure the panels into the cabinets.
Application: The application calls for a way to grip the panel in a horizontal position on a bench and pitch up 75°-80°, then set into an electrical cabinet.
Solution: A pedestal mounted Simple Air Manipulator® (SAM K-112) with 320 lbs. payload capacity and 360° main post rotation. Bearing assembly with spring loaded lock provides stops at 90° increments. Pitching end joint specifically designed to allow 90° of pitch, with soft stop circuitry from a horizontal to a vertical position. Twist meetering control. Gripper Safety Circuitry, Lost Load Cylinder and Safety Lock Valves on Lift Cylinder and Grip Actuator.
