Case Study #124: Glass Panels

Problem: Safely pitch heavy glass panels varying in size, weighing up to 150 lbs. up to 110°, from vertical to horizontal and rotate through the pitched horizontal axis to line up holes for installation

Application: Handle large window panels being positioned for installation onto a cab. Some panels are in the vertical orientation and some are stored horizontally.

Solution: Vertical Lift Cylinder on dual rail carriage. Vacuum end-effector with cups configured to handle a wide range of parts. Bearing assembly with spring- loaded lock provides stops at 90° increments. Pitching end joint designed to allow more than 90° of pitch in the vertical position.
