Problem: Ingots are 24″ long. The zinc ignot is 9″ wide and the copper ignot is 3″ wide. They are gripped in random order and heated to 700°F. The furnace hood is 92″ from the floor. The top of the furnace is 48″ from the floor. The ingot must be placed into a pot that is 32″ and under the hood. Extended ‶reach-in″ is required to place the ingot around all sides of the pot.
Application: Pick up an ingot weighing up to 60 lbs., lay it in the horizontal position and raise it from the pallet to a vertical orientation.
Solution: A LodeArm® 3030 mounted on a short pedestal with a portable base. The LodeArm has 60 lbs. of payload capacity, 52″ of vertical lift and 360° main post rotation. Dual cylinder actuation of the gripper with extended jaw arms. Hardened steel set point grip pads. Dust and high temperature modifications.
