Case Study #125: Molds

Problem: Long reach-in, heavy parts and high temperatures were too much for the operators. Controlled pour of the material was necessary and spilled material was an extremely dangerous problem for the operators.

Application: Placing, pouring and removing hot molds.

Solution: Taurus® (TPA-5) Manipulator with 360° main post rotation. Horizontal axis rotation end joint. 190° powered parts rotator with adjustable flow controls. Modifications were made to withstand high temperatures.
