Case Study #159: Plaster of Paris Molds
Problem: Different diameter and height of plaster molds. Molds are manually handled, rotated and transferred. End-user would like to easily handle the molds in a safe manner that protects both the operator and product handled.
Application: Pick up a two-piece mold from a table, rotate it 180° and place it on a slide tray in front of a press.
Solution: Pneumatic balancer mounted on a LodeRail bridge crane system. Hook hung dual actuated pneumatic gripper with manual rotation through the ‶V″ shaped jaw designed as compact as possible to save vertical space. Jaw pad material is a thick open cell material used to grip and retain both the mold and the ring.
