Case Study #101: Semi Tractor Seats

Problem: Seat weight increased beyond single operator capability.

Application: Pick up a 150 lb. seat from a pallet and place inside a tractor cab from either the driver or passenger side.

Solution: A rigid style Vertical Lift Cylinder mounted to a square form trolley with a Unified box rail truck. Custom designed end-effector consisting of three components: spatula, trapping fingers and an air powered round disk to effectively trap the variety of seats being handled.
