Diaper Tape Rolls

Problem:
Minimal floor space is available with pallets placed over a wide work area. Slit rolls on the pallet are placed over a cardboard core poke for shipping. Rolls are dropped to the pallet until a stack is formed. Inner core of the slit rolls cannot be deformed. Operators need to work from both sides of the end-effector.
Application:
Transfer 200 lb. cylinders to and from a wash rack and crate. Work cell radius is 216″.
Solution:
An overhead mounted Simple Air Manipulator® (SAM K-112) with a special lift cylinder safety lock valve. End-effector consists of an extended I.D. poke with bottom mounted grip foot and 90° air powered parts rotator. Grip pressure regular and gage. Dual operator controls and D-shaped steering handles with grip release proof button, grip and rotate indicators and a “handshake” pendant for up/down metering control.
