Problem:
Workers had to lean over the chassis to install the cylinders resulting in several back injuries.
Application:
Remove two cylinders from a customer supplied fixture which allows tool access. Transfer cylinders to the chassis, insert them into their mounting slots, and hold until the operator completes the installation.
Solution:
Simple Air Manipulator® (SAM K-112) with 200 lbs. payload capacity. Floor-mounted pedestal, 360° main post rotation and 360° end joint rotation. Tandem gripper assembly. Rotates end-effector so the center post is under the cylinders in their installed position. reverse operation to remove the end-effector once the cylinders are secured. Operator’s controls: handheld or tool socketed metering valve up/down, push button grip/release and Gripper Safety Circuit.
